Upcoming Events

Stay tuned for hosted walks, field trips, and more.

Bringing us closer to the great outdoors

Our objective is to safeguard and defend the woodland and marshlands for the forthcoming generations by means of preservation, education, research, and ensuring equitable opportunities to experience nature.

Trails are open

The forest has a multi-use trail network that is a regional destination for recreation—providing unique economic and health-related values to the people of Wolcott and surrounding communities.

Our land acknowledgement

The Community Town Forest acknowledges that we reside upon the traditional and unceded home of the Western Abenaki People. These lands and waters have been a site of meeting and exchange among Indigenous Peoples for thousands of years. Wolcott Community Forest honors, recognizes and respects the Abenaki as the traditional stewards of this landscape. We strive to respect and protect this land, while continually honoring the legacy of Vermont’s Indigenous People, the Abenaki People of the Dawn.

Wolcott Community Forest boasts several vantage points scattered across its open meadows, offering breathtaking vistas of the majestic Green Mountain Range , the charming Wolcott Village, and the lush forested hills that stretch towards the east and north.

Interested in helping with the trails?

Thank you for your interest in volunteer service with Community Town Forest! Volunteers are truly critical to our success.

Without the talent and dedication of people like you, we could not do what we do. Whether you only have an hour or you have a full day, we hope you will consider joining Wolcott Woods in our mission to create experiences that connect people and nature, motivating them to lead sustainable lives and take action to protect our environment.
